REWRITE TOMORROW
.

Who can help?

Your first point of contact will probably be a doctor or neurologist with specialist knowledge of DLB.  A psychiatrist, psychologist or counsellor will be able to help with some of the behavioural and psychological aspects of DLB.  A physiotherapist will be able to assist with some of the motor symptoms, whilst an occupational therapist will be able to suggest specialist equipment and strategies to overcome everyday difficulties as well as ways to stay motivated and to continue enjoyable activities.

As DLB can cause rapid fluctuations in symptoms it is important that a flexible approach is adopted by all concerned, including carers, family and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Did you know?

Research by the American Association of Family Practitioners suggests that DLB is more common in men than in women.
