Treatment and management of bradykinesia

Bradykinesia generally responds well to medication, especially in the early stages of the illness.  As with all Parkinson’s medications, treatment is very individual and what works for one person may not work for another so your doctor may try several approaches to see what works best for you.

But, as with all medications, always check with your healthcare professional before altering any of your medications.

Did you know?

Bradykinesia can sometimes occur as a result of taking anti-psychotic medications. Because of the calming nature of many anti-psychotic drugs, the patient may enter a state of calm where movements are slowed considerably.
