What is olfactory dysfunction?

Olfactory deficit or dysfunction, also known as hyposmia, is an impairment of the sense of smell resulting in a reduced ability to detect odours.

It is estimated that there are around 10 million scent receptors in the human nose and we can distinguish around 10 thousand different smells!
