Tremor: Research papers
The phenomenology of Parkinsonian tremor
Several differential diagnoses like rest tremor in ET, dystonic tremor, psychogenic tremor and Holmes' tremor may be misinterpreted as PD-tremor. Tests and clinical clues to separate them are presented.

Coherence analysis of local field potentials in the subthalamic nucleus: differences in parkinsonian rest and postural tremor
This study investigated the pathophysiology of rest and postural tremor in PD. In 14 patients with PD, we recorded intraoperatively local field potentials (LFPs) in the STN (at different recording depths) and electromyographic signals (EMGs) of the contralateral forearm.

Accuracy of clinical diagnosis in tremulous parkinsonian patients: a blinded video study
Clinical distinction of TDPD from atypical tremor, monosymptomatic rest tremor and dystonic tremor can be difficult due to the presence of parkinsonian features in tremulous SWEDD patients.

Distinguishing SWEDDs patients with asymmetric resting tremor from Parkinson's disease
Despite clinical overlap, there are features that can help to distinguish between PD and SWEDDs which may be useful in clinical practice. The underlying pathophysiology of SWEDDs differs from PD but has similarities with primary dystonia.

Association between essential tremor and Parkinson's disease
The prevalence of PD in the population with essential tremor was 24 times greater than expected. This study suggests that some patients with essential tremor have genetically increased risk for PD.

Tremor-Predominant Parkinson's Disease: Approaches To Treatment
Tremor-predominant Parkinson's disease is characterised by prominent tremor of one or more limbs with a relative lack of significant rigidity and bradykinesia. Despite the lack of other disabling motor symptoms, the tremor of tremor-predominant Parkinson's disease can be very disabling, especially if a postural and kinetic component exists.
